On January 1, 2025, we at Fluorchem Corporation initiated a major administrative transformation, concluding all commercial chemical manufacturing operations. This milestone marks a strategic inflection point for our company, as we transition from our role as a global chemical producer to a research-driven enterprise under the framework of our 2030 Horizon Operational Strategy.
This decision follows the planned and phased termination of several key product lines. In 2024, we exited the health & personal care and fashion industries, concluding production of polyamide nylon 66, as well as several cosmetic compounds including dimethicone, acrylates, and phenoxyethanol. In 2025, we formally ceased manufacturing of solvents, following regulatory rulings by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency banning the use of tetrachloroethylene and trichloroethylene. These changes, while significant, have enabled us to reallocate resources and equipment formerly used for production activities, towards long-term scientific innovation and advanced materials development.
Over the course of our five-year commercial production operations, we supplied a diverse range of chemical solutions to critical sectors worldwide. Our industrial solvents and specialty gases, such as HFC-152a, served essential petrochemical and consumer applications. We supported global health efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic through the production of chlorinated bleach solutions including sodium hypochlorite and trichloroisocyanuric acid. Our nylon operations provided high-quality materials for Chinese clothing manufactures, while our cosmetic-grade chemicals served advanced formulations in personal care products. We are grateful to the many customers and industrial partners who relied on our performance driven solutions.
Throughout our manufacturing operations, we upheld rigorous quality assurance protocols and prioritized operational safety at every level. All products underwent comprehensive laboratory testing prior to export, ensuring consistency with both internal performance standards and client-specific specifications. Our production environments are and continue to be fully robotic and human-free, designed to eliminate direct chemical exposure and maintain an exceptional standard of occupational safety.
Now, as we move toward a research-oriented future, our mission remains rooted in scientific advancement and material innovation. Under the 2030 Horizon Strategy, we are focused on the development of next-generation fluorochemical products, high-performance coatings, and advanced materials that will help power progress across multiple industries. This includes targeted work in fluoropolymer innovation, PFAS research, and cross-sector application development, which we are actively advancing through dedicated R&D programs. While we no longer manufacture chemical products for commercial sale, our dedication to excellence, research integrity, and industry impact remains unchanged. We thank our customers for their support throughout our manufacturing chapter. With renewed focus, we are excited to enter a new phase, one defined by research, discovery, and the shaping of tomorrow’s materials.
We look forward to helping shape the future through the production of advanced materials and technologies that will drive innovation worldwide.
